How to get tax free at the airport of Rome

If you are not a citizen of one of the Schengen countries, then when shopping at Roman outlets or shopping centers you have the opportunity to save on the return of value added tax (VAT). Agree that it is nice to get a discount on purchased goods of about 10-12%.
To return the free dues after shopping in Rome you need to fulfill several conditions:

  • Make a purchase in one store for more than 100 euros;
  • To issue at the time of purchase the return of the tax free in the form of a special form;
  • Spend about 10-15 minutes on registration at the Fiumicino airport;
  • Wait a week for a refund to the card, or pick up a slightly smaller amount on the spot.

As a result, to complete all the procedures you have to leave the hotel about an hour earlier. We recommend ordering a transfer in Rome from a friend of our editorial office, Sergio, at ru.rome4.us

This instruction will allow you to better understand the process of registration of dachshunds and hopefully save time.

The procedure for obtaining a customs seal

Luggage

  • Check in for a flight without checking in your baggage;
  • The customs office is located in the exit gate of the Terminal, opposite exit H02 (after passport control): present your purchases and put the customs seal on Tax Free forms;
  • Check in at baggage desk 330, next to the customs office;
  • Go to the Global Blue office, located next to the 326 counter, to receive a VAT refund on your credit card.

Carry-on baggage

  • Check in for a flight;
  • Go to the customs point in Terminal 3 (registration area), present your purchases and put the customs seal on the forms of Tax Free;
  • Follow the “VAT REFUND” signs to Terminal H, which is located next to Terminal G, from where most flights depart to Russia, the USA and Israel.
  • Use the “Fast Lane” service at the Global Blue Refund Office opposite exit H01 to expedite the VAT refund on your credit card. Money will be transferred within 5 business days.
  • Current information on the opening hours of the Tax Free office at Fiumicino Airport can always be checked on the official website:
    www.globalblue.ru/customer-services/tax-free-shopping/refund-points/italy/rome-fiumicino-airport-terminal-3/ - usually offices are open from 7 am to 10 pm
  • You can return your registered Tax Free upon arrival home. Addresses of offices: www.globalblue.ru/customer-services/tax-free-shopping/refund-points/

If you fly from terminal G, for example, to Russia, it will take you about 10-15 minutes to get from the Tax Free office in terminal H. The train runs between terminals H and G with an interval of several minutes.
