Visas to Italy for citizens of Ukraine

Visas to Italy for Ukrainians and citizens of other nationalities who have the right to reside in Ukraine are opened at the Italian Embassy in Kiev. And to simplify the procedure, it is enough to fill out an application for opening all categories of visas at the Italian Visa Application Center.

Requirements for documents for an Italian visa for citizens of Ukraine

practically have no differences with the package of documents necessary for opening a Schengen visa at embassies of other countries. Differences in the collection of documents can be observed when applying for different categories of visas. The standard package of documents includes:

  • An application form with a photograph of a passport format, filled in block letters in English or Italian and certified by a personal signature. For minors, the questionnaire is filled out separately, certified by the signature of the parents or guardians. (Application forms can be obtained during the working week at the Italian Embassy in Kiev or printed directly from the sites of the Visa Application Center or Embassy).
  • 2 color photos format 3.5x4.5 cm (taken before applying, on a white background).
  • An international passport, the term of validity of which at the end of the visa lasts 3 months (in the passport issued no earlier than 10 years ago, with a minimum of two blank pages; passports with an extended validity period are not accepted).
  • Canceled foreign passports that were available, or their photocopies. (This condition is not mandatory, but the provision of visas contained in them will be evidence of the timely return of the tourist from the trip, increasing his chances of opening a visa).
  • Internal passport and copies of its pages.
  • The original and a copy of the invitation with personal data and the signature of the inviting party for people traveling at the invitation of Italian citizens with a copy of the passport identifying the inviting person or foreign citizens with the right to stay in the country (Рermésso di soggiorno), as well as documents confirming their family ties .
  • Certificate of employment on company letterhead with all contact details of the organization; position, work experience, salary, with a date not exceeding the period of 1 month before submitting an application.
  • The original and copies of the completed pages of the work book, its first and last pages with translation into English or Italian. For contract workers, the original and a copy of the contract with the employer. Persons working in private organizations submit a statement of income, originals and copies of the employment contract, work book and certificate of registration of the employer, certified by his signature and official seal.
  • Pensioners submit originals and copies of the pension book, an extract on pension accruals for the last 6 months from the pension fund.
  • School children and students - a certificate from the place of study, originals and copies of the student and gradebook.
  • Private entrepreneurs - the original and a copy of the registration certificate, income statement (last 6 months).
  • Documents providing financial guarantees for the applicant: a statement of the state of the bank account, originals and copies of a credit card, or traveler's checks and a receipt for their purchase, bank guarantee (fidejussione bancaria).
  • Booking a hotel for people traveling on their own, indicating the address, contact details of the hotel, the period of residence, or the original and a copy of the lease and a document confirming the payment of rental housing in Italy. At the same time, the lessor must provide a statement guaranteeing residence for persons applying for a visa, a copy of the lessor's identification card is attached to the application.
  • Confirmation of the reservation of tickets or their originals round-trip. If the trip is planned by car, the originals and copies of the vehicle registration certificate, green card insurance, driver's license are required. The rented car will also require originals and copies of the vehicle rental agreement.
  • The original and a copy of the insurance policy covering the entire trip with a margin of at least 15 days, with an insurance amount of 30,000 euros.

A visa to Italy for citizens of Ukraine who have not reached the age of 18 can be issued upon fulfillment of additional requirements for documents:

  • In the absence of their own travel documents, the data of the child with the photo is entered in the passport of one of the parents, the original and a copy of the page (with the data of the child) of the parent's passport are submitted with a package of documents.
  • The original and a copy of the birth certificate with translation (if the names of the parents and the child do not match, additional documents on the change of names certified by the apostille are provided).
  • The original and a copy of the permission notarized by the notary for the child to travel abroad from both parents, regardless of whether the child will travel alone, with parents or with one of them (permission to travel must be apostilled and with a legalized translation).

Visa Fee to Italy

The amount of the consular fee for Ukrainians applying for obtaining a tourist visa to Italy is 35 euros. You can pay the fee at a bank branch located directly in the Visa Application Center.

Visa Fee to Italy do not pay:

  • children under 6 years old
  • persons having family relations in the EU countries (before the second generation), guardians or family relations
  • persons, according to the agreement on simplification of the visa regime (students, scientists, researchers whose trip has humanitarian, educational and educational purposes; people with disabilities and their accompanying persons, participants in cultural or sports events of an international scale).

Embassy of Italy in Ukraine reserves the right to request additional documentation. Moreover, all documents of Ukrainian origin must be translated into English or Italian.
