Every year, hundreds of thousands of tourists come here from all over the world to combine business with pleasure, downhill skiing with wellness, and the charms of natural beauties with excellent Italian service.

In the continuation of the first part of the post Ski resorts in Italy: 8 highlights of the Italian Alps BlogoItaliano continues to explore the most remarkable places for skiers in the north of the Apennine Peninsula.

Arabba Marmolada

The Arabba Marmolada ski resort, located in the Italian province of Belluno, is ideal for experienced skiers and snowboarders, as well as for families, as it is calm and quiet here.

In the vicinity of the Sella mountain group, the resort of Arraba is considered the smallest, but, unlike other winter resorts, it is closest to the top and the Dolomites glacier - Marmolada. This proximity is a kind of guarantee of snow. Therefore, the skiing season is the longest here: often, from December to April, and on the Marmolada glacier itself you can ride in June and September.

Arabba is ideal for experienced skiers, snowboarders and for families

The village of Arrab is very small: in 30 minutes you can go around it up and down. People come here for sporting interest: advanced wheelchairs at this resort hone their previously acquired skills. Even the ski lifts taking the skiers to the opposite slopes are located 250-300 m from each other. And although the town is considered small, a ski area of 52 km is served by 29 lifts. There are also special tracks for cross-country skiing, the length of which is 15 km.

The resort has no more than two dozen hotels and pensions, and there are not so many shops with restaurants, but each establishment has excellent cuisine and a cozy atmosphere. And although there is no special sports center in the resort of Arraba, vacationers can swim in the pool at the Portavescovo hotel, as well as go ice skating and snowmobiling, do paragliding or snowboarding.

Val di Fiemme

Located in the Trentino region, the Val di Fiemme ski resort is called the "gate" of the Dolomites. As in many other ski resorts in Italy, authoritative sports are held here: world championships, European championships, stages of the World Cups, etc.

Val di Fiemme will appeal to children and beginners taking their first steps in skiing. There are few difficult downhill slopes in the resort, but experienced skiers will be satisfied with the slope on the slope of Alpe Cermis, located between the peaks of the Eurohotel and Doss dei Larezi.

An inconvenience for lovers of complete comfort may be that from settlements to cable cars can only be reached by bus. However, in this regard, worries are completely in vain, since from 8.00 to 18.00 transport links operate "clearly" and absolutely free.

Val di Fiemme often hosts sporting events

In their free time, three ice stadiums where you can go ice skating, two swimming pools, tennis and billiards are at your service. You can do paragliding and ice climbing.

Fans of shops and restaurants will not be left idle, which are more than enough in the ski resort of Val di Fiemme.

Val Gardena

Val Gardena ski resort is located in the heart of the Dolomites and is famous for its picturesque beauty. In addition, even "seasoned" choosy tourists will be satisfied with the variety and quality of tracks, the charm of old towns and the wonderful service.

Like most other resorts, Val Gardena gained popularity after the World Championships in Alpine skiing, held here in 1970.

A 16th century medieval castle has been perfectly preserved in Val Gardena

Today, the length of the ski slopes is 175 km, and the ski area is serviced by 81 ski lifts. For cross-country skiing, the resort also has 60 km of trails.

It is good to relax with children here, as ski schools and kindergartens offer both in winter and summer an extensive program of outdoor activities. All sorts of circles work for children from 4 years of age and older, excursions, swimming lessons, etc. are held.

In addition to skiing in the ski resort of Val Gardena, there are several toboggan runs, ice rink, swimming pool and many other entertainments.

Madonna di Campiglio

Ski resort Madonna di Campiglio, located in the province of Trentino, is considered one of the most picturesque, well-equipped and modern resorts in the Alps. The ski season lasts here from December to almost April, and both beginners and professionals will feel equally comfortable on local routes.

Length of tracks - about 150 km, the ski area is served by 30 lifts, and for cross-country skiing 30 km of tracks are laid in the resort.

In Madonna di Campiglio, everything is made for relaxation

At the resort, everything was created for relaxation: modern hotels, festive carnivals, exotic shows, and sports competitions. There are many designer boutiques, art exhibitions and sightseeing programs.

In addition, Madonna di Campiglio has a sports center, swimming pool, bowling alley and an outdoor ice rink. You can ride a dog sled, do climbing or paragliding.
