Tips

Carry some small money while getting in a taxi, as taxi drivers strive to keep change if the client has a large bill. The agreed price is usually overpriced. It is fixed only over long distances, for example, to airports. If the driver offers to negotiate the price of the trip in advance, then he wants, most likely, to deceive you.

Make sure the taxi meter is working. Otherwise, transfer to another machine. Usually a broken counter is just a trick to take more money from you.

You need to know your address precisely, preferably in Italian, so that the driver does not have a chance to drop you off not where you need, but where he is comfortable.

Credit cards do not accept all taxis. This is best clarified before the trip.

How to order a taxi

Taxis can be ordered by phone. An automated system will connect you to the nearest parking lot. Call charges are only taken if ordered. And keep in mind that drivers turn on the meter immediately after the order call, so be prepared to pay for the distance that the taxi driver will travel to get to you.

It is better to take a taxi in special parking lots, which are not few in the city. Then you do not have to pay a taxi fare to your location. It is not customary to catch a taxi on the street (this will cost more and is unsafe).

How do I save on hotels?

Everything is very simple - look not only at the booking. I prefer the search engine RoomGuru. He is looking for discounts at the same time on Booking and on 70 other booking sites.
